Cold / Chill Stores

The majority of our clients have a requirement for frozen storage of raw and finished goods.  This may be spread over various rooms, temperatures, sizes and storage methods.  When dealing with temperatures as low as -30°C it is essential that a fully integrated design is produced encompassing all the structural, insulation, refrigeration and safety requirements.  This is important for many reasons such as simply making sure the layout actually meets the client’s requirement, to maximising energy efficiency and ensuring the safety of personnel working within the coldstore.

Our management team offer many years of experience in designing and constructing a wide range of coldstores, serving a wide range of clients and products.
There are many companies who construct coldstores, but few who you can trust to guarantee a full solution to your brief.  For example, the type of product may dictate the racking system used, which may dictate, or be dictated by the type of forklift.  What effect will this have on the position of evaporators?  How will means of escape be affected by the racking?  Will an existing structure support the additional loadings? All of these elements must be considered as a whole.

We utilise a range of different composite insulated panels and suspension systems.  We only use quality materials and components and work with major manufacturers to ensure that the panels we install are the optimum for the installation, and the correct choice for long term cost efficiency, especially considering the current insurance market.

We design and install a wide range of refrigeration systems including DX and ammonia, with equipment sourced from the world’s top manufacturers.   We also design and install dehumidification equipment for areas vulnerable to moisture infiltration such as air locks.
When setting out to develop a coldstore, clients must recognise how fundamental it is to their business, and not simply dismiss it as a simple storage area.
