All incoming materials and outgoing finished products pass though some form of
distribution facility. These of course vary depending upon the scale of the operation
and nature of the product, but all are built around the same principles.
Rapid and safe loading/unloading with the minimum air infiltration are essential
features and to ensure this it is important to have a full understanding of materials
handling and vehicle logistics. As distribution facilities are seen as non-productive
areas it is all too easy to overlook the space required both for load make up
and efficient vehicle turnaround. We are used to designing for a multitude of
vehicle types and load configurations. Loading bays can be dangerous places and
at design stage we always strive to eliminate as many potential hazards as possible.

The movement of both vehicles and forklifts also present hazards to the building
fabric, and to alleviate this we work with manufacturers to develop systems which
avoid the chances of collision.
We have installed a wide range of loading bay equipment from many of the world’s
top manufactures. This includes dock levellers, scissor lifts, dock seals and
shelters and associated equipment.
Many projects include areas of warehouse or dry goods storage. Often these use
pallet racking to maximise the storage capacity.
We have designed and installed various types of pallet racking systems depending
upon the requirement of the client and product. These include static, drive-in,
push back and mobile systems.

In addition we also design and install mezzanine floors which can increase storage
capacity and provide much needed additional floor space.
We have also installed fire sprinkler systems as both new installations and retro-fit
to existing storage areas.
