At the heart of most of our client’s business are the areas in which the various
products are manufactured. These range from simple refrigerated rooms through
to complex suites of production rooms, work in progress chills, ingredient stores,
hygiene rooms and a myriad of associated equipment. These areas should not be
simply thought of as refrigerated rooms with hygienic finishes; the size, configuration
and layout of these rooms can only be determined once a full understanding of
the product and production cycle is gained.

Generally there are process machines to be incorporated and often in the case
of cooking facilities these will form the divide between high risk and low risk
environments.
We are fully conversant with the legislation governing such production facilities
and also in applying this legislation in a practical real-world fashion.
The typical elements which will make up production facilities include composite
insulated panel walls and ceilings, resin floor systems, stainless steel drainage,
refrigeration and ventilation including pressurisation, doors, electrics and mechanical
systems.
We always design and build for the long term, and this means ensuring that often
overlooked items such as underground drainage design is correct, and that measures
are put in place to protect the fabric of the rooms, such as barriers, bollards
etc.

Production areas usually have a large requirement for energy input, both in terms
of electrical power and hot water for handwashing and washdown. By working with
Celsius Projects Limited we can provide energy efficient solutions to these needs
such as utilising heat reclaim systems to generate hot water from the refrigeration
system waste heat. As with all the best outcomes, a measured and integrated approach
is usually the right solution.
